Any interest in a dyno day? I know a few folks got some new cars (Lawrence! Cordova!) and others have some new mods since our last one (December 2010?).

I'd love to see what the MS3 puts down since I did all those mods last year and would like to see what the stock Z does as well.

If there is enough interest, does anyone have any connections to help setup a group dyno?

-----------------------------------

EDIT: Okay, seems like enough people want to sign up. To get a better idea of how many folks are going (and perhaps using it to get some favorable pricing) I'll start up a list...

-----------------------------------

Location
Dietsch Werks
521 Charcot Ave - Suite 251
San Jose, CA 95131
408-355-0081

Google Maps

Date & Time
Date - Sunday May 20th 2012
Start - 8:00am
Note - Please get here earlier in the day if possible. They are worried about the timing of possibly 20+ cars. We won't want any times where we're just sitting around waiting and then a group of cars show up an hour before close. They might not be able to get everyone on the dyno if we do that. Additionally, they'd also like to 'group' cars together if possible to keep the dyno configuration the same. This makes it faster to load cars on the dyno. I understand not everyone can show up at 8am, but try to stop as early as you can. It'll be a cool hangout and you reduce heat soak by letting your intercooler cool down.  icon_lol

Dyno Info
Dyno Type - In-ground Superflow AWD Dyno
Cost - $65, cash or credit card is ok.
Runs - 3
Printouts - Yes, including 'Comparison' runs (you and your buddy's dyno run on one graph). TV screen displaying results for folks to see.
Note - No lifts or ramps! Woohoo, no scraping!

Other Details
Food/Drinks - May have some refreshments available (TBD)
Facility - Can check out some of the exotic cars on site
Note - They might have some refreshments for us. They initially told me 'no' @ $65, but then 'we'll see what we can do' when I called earlier today. This is by Club Auto Sport, so they have some cool exotic cars around to check out. They may be roped off or behind glass, but they'd still be cool to check out or take photos of.

Someone call GST if you want an AWD dyno. If we go there, expect heartbreaks. (Mustang Dyno)  icon_lol

Sweet. Let us know whats up with that. Otherwise, I can try to find an AWD dyno around here so our AWD driving friends have a shot at it as well.

Would love to see what your BT MS3 puts down...

Awesome. Not sure when this will occur, but maybe it makes sense to shoot for about a month from now? That should give folks enough notice and time to prep their cars... Think you can get your header worked out by then?

Gotta love heartbreaker dynos. 'Losing' power after dumping a crap ton into mods is a great feeling. icon_lol

What do the Evo & STi guys use around here?

Anyone heard of FFTEC? They also use an AWD Mustang Dyno...

1/4 Mile on a Dyno?!
Ever seen a car run a complete quarter-mile pass on a dyno? Have you even heard of a dyno that can do such a thing? FFTEC Motorsports' Mustang dyno provides the ability to offer you this type of service. Our Mustang Dynamometer's quarter-mile simulation is accurate to within a 0.1 second!

Sounds kinda neat! Wonder if its included or extra, and how accurate it is.

Phil's MS3 with FMIC, CAI, TBE, Exhaust Mani and CP-E SB did like 255whp.  icon_neutral
