No worries Earl. Just a bummer you couldn't get all your parts in on time so you can see what you're making.

For those arriving, look for the Goodies speed shop and the Dyno sign by the street. The entrance is there, not the parking lot of Club Auto Sport.

Dietsch Werks was generous enough to give Andrew a dyno run as it was his birthday. Given how modest this dyno was, the expectations were a bit on the low side. Everyone was pretty ecstatic when it broke 100.

You guys also missed the Lotus at the end, that car was pretty awesome and pretty darn loud. I think my ears are still ringing  icon_lol

Thanks all for coming out and making the dyno day a success. The event was a blast and I hope you all had as much fun as I did. Unsure about the total number of cars, but we were around 20 which is quite an impressive turnout given our focus on just the Mazda crew. The variety of cars made the event interesting as it was always fun waiting to see what the next car put down.

Also a big thanks to Rob, Jen, and the rest of the crew at Dietsch Werks. They had organized a great event. The hospitality and openness was amazing, I felt right at home. The breakfast treats and BBQ were delicious. The tour of their shop and the rest of the facility was great, there were a lot of really cool cars to check out. Dietsch Werks is putting together a compilation of videos and pictures, so we should see that shortly.

Please visit the Dietsch Werks FB Page and if you had a good time, give em a Like @ http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dietsch-Werks/301151806326

For those that left early and didn't hear, Rob, the owner of Dietsch Werks, had mentioned that if you get any more mods done and want to see your gains, you can come back in for the same Group Buy price. This is a very generous offer as its normally 2x that much here and most other shops can't touch this price unless its a group event. Just call a few days in advance and be sure to mention you were a part of the Mazda Dyno Day for the special pricing. They also do dyno pulls during the Cars and Caffeine events every 2nd Saturday of the month. For more information on that and other events, visit www.clubautosport.net.

Lastly, I normally don't do this, but I'm still wowed by the event and I think this is worth calling out. If you hear of any other groups interested in doing a Dyno Day, please be sure to recommend Dietsch Werks as a possible location. The accessibility (AWD, No Ramps, Location) and hospitality (staff, food, drinks, facility) are top notch and they deserve the opportunity to continue to provide this service to the rest of the Bay Area car enthusiast community.

Thanks again!!

This dyno was reading super slow, I thought Mustangs were heartbreakers. The owner at the end of our runs would tell us that their dyno reads 20% lower than your normal dyno.

Yeah, it was not a happy dyno. The shop had done some baselines on their car and came up with a few calculations to represent what it'd show on other dynos and at the crank. They know their readings are lower by about 20%. We did the math using some of the stock cars and what they typically dyno and that seems about right. Another guy who ran his car on another dyno, no changes, showed similar results (150whp here, 180whp on the other).

The raw number sucks, so if you're looking for an ego boost, this is not the place to be. With all things considered, the results aren't nearly as bad as the number indicates.

yeh the readings were low but considering to what they had their dyno calibrated to.  but with the calculations they have it did all make sense.  the techs running the dyno knew fairly well what they were seeing and talking about.  with me pulling a 252 times that with 1.22 it was about what I was looking 290s to 300s.  so definitely good spot that I'd consider going back to.  if you wanna see numbers on a paper, oh well be prepared to be disappointed.  but all in all it just about summed it up when they walke you through the numbers.
