Nice  icon_lol I think Mazda could add a few more HP through fine tuning tho. If Honda were to decide to turbocharge or even supercharge their si, they would reclaim the crown

damn. I'm not really familiar with Honda motors but isn't the k20 their best motor? That's not bad for a 2.0 NA. I haven't even stock dynoed my base. I wonder how it would compare, estimated 148hp

That's what gets me. It uses the same (similar) motor in the TSX and that is a pretty fast car. I think what the problems might be is that they are worried and focusing too much time and energy into fuel efficiency and making it affordable. Plus its a "vtec crossover" whatever that is  icon_scratch

Here is a stock tsx what put down 189 Whp/ 148.9 Ft. Lbs
http://tsx.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=666732

idk where the 14whp went  icon_scratch

heavier wheels and different tires?  icon_scratch its a sad reality car companies are focusing more on efficiency. But at least they are trying to make it efficient and enjoyable. Bad thing is,  with fuel efficient motors, there's very little room for mods

Speed3 may be faster but I'd still want an Si over it. Why? More aftermarket support. Where the Speed3 will eventually taper off at some point in terms of mod potential, that Si will just keep going, and going, and going to the point where the Si comes out to be faster anyways. Let's be honest, who here keeps their cars stock? Ok, I'm sure there's a select few, but you get my point. That and I'm just not a big fan of hatches.

One of the things I like about the MS3 is the limited aftermarket support - there is enough to do what i want...and i can be somewhat unique...too many honda fanbois out there with modded civics...

Meh I can't fully agree with that.  It sucks not to have great cosmetic parts that a fuckin' unreleased Honda already has waiting to be sold by a vendor.  icon_lol

For the price stock for stock, I'd still probably take the Speed. But if I were to go heavily modded after I get it, Si all the way. I have never driven an Si, but it's probably similar to an RSX-S and they aren't bad cars. They maybe be torqueless, but they can still get up and go. But the new Si isn't as attractive to me as the 09-10' Si. And the new Si only gained some torque compared to the old Si.

+1 to what Nick said. It is hard to be unique when there are only 2 lips available for your car, and one is OEM  icon_lol

How is it being unique when everybody else has the same mods as you?
