What's up everyone? My name's Ravi. I'm originally from Rancho Cucamonga (even more originally-er: Auckland, New Zealand), but I've been going to college in San Luis Obispo for the past 2.5 years.

I used to be a Honda guy; I drove a 94 Prelude in high school, and sold it for a 94 Accord coupe when I started college. She lasted me two years before she spun a bearing while I was driving home for Thanksgiving break. So, I left her at home and brought up my mom's 02 Protege LX for the last 3 (rainy) weeks of the semester. And discovered that I loved driving her car more than mine, even with a slushbox that hates the hilly terrain around here.

So, 5 weeks ago, I bought an 03 Protege5 with 120k miles. So far, she's treated me well, with the exception of some ridiculous belt squeal I need to address, a busted RR door lock actuator, and the 5 stuck CD's I need to get out of the changer.

In any case, I'm already starting to love my new car. And not just because 5 doors = more whores.

EDIT: So, do I rep the SoCal section or the NorCal section?

Welcome, nice P5! I graduated from Cal Poly SLO a few years ago... awesome school. I bought my 3 at the old Mazda dealer in SLO (Valley Mazda) my senior year there.

It's tough to say whether SLO is more NorCal or SoCal. Most people would say SoCal but it doesn't really matter. I moved north when I graduated because I liked the bay area more than the LA area, but they are both practically the exact same distance / time from SLO... it's a great place to be  2thumbs

Day Creek and Banyan. What about you? Los Osos '07

It's weird, I never ever saw P5's around Rancho, but then as soon as I bought mine, I started seeing them everywhere.
