Not even close...

Bugatti's are the supercars! That's why they don't make those piece of shit hybrids i know LEXUS/TOYOTAs do.

Calling the LFA a Toyota is similar to calling the Bugatti a VW.

toyota-Lexus and vw-Audi is a better comparison. Bugatti is way out of lexus's league.

If you have to ask whether or not it's worth it, then you aren't the customer they're looking for.

This.

It's the price of certain level of exclusivity and the opportunity to own a collector item, not something you're gonna take on the street to race for pinkslips or enter into the Grand Am series to win a race. If I were a serious car collector, had an annual salary in the tens of millions, I'd totally be on the list to own one or two of these. It could be considered a $350k toy, a pioneer in Toyota engineering for the future of its vehicles, a failure in some critical element (floormats ganking the gas pedal) waiting to be discovered, or something. And believe me, I'd already be owning a handful of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, an R8, every generation Skyline, a 1500hp Supra, Veyron, etc.

I'd keep it in a garage to look at it, take it on a track a few times a year, time permitting. One would have to imagine that if you were this wealthy, a significant portion of your time would be devoted to acquiring this wealth (read: job).

Also, assuming Lexus doesn't start releasing these cars in droves and add a production year to them.

Back to a slighter shade of reality- Even if I suddenly became $350,000 richer to spend toward an LFA or a car, I wouldn't buy any of the cars you guys listed. I'd put a big chunk of that money down for a house in a nicer area, keep driving my zoom zoomin MS3, take some time off to go backpacking again in a foreign country, and return to school for a masters. Me personally, at my current income and perceived value of cars, would not spend that sort of money toward a car (hello, I drove a turbocharged econobox rated a 'great deal' by several car reviews).

To each his or her own though. :]

have any of you ever driven a 300? or a dodge avenger or dodge challenger? they all share the same platform anda person who drove around in them for weeks I can tell you that they are pretty terrible.

1.) they drive like a boat.
2.) they weigh like 800 lbs more than any of our cars.
3.) even  the torquier versions lose a lot of its power in the marshmellow suspension.

want a better bang for your buck GM vehicle? go g6 or g8 haven't driven the g8's but the g6's pulls like an is250 for a fraction of the price.

Even if I had millions sitting in the bank... paying anything over 100K for a Lexus is stupid... Like the initial post said.. ITS A TOYOTA...

I would pay the 80K for the GTR... but look at the price difference?

Granted nice car... but WAY overpriced.. I will take a Ferrari or Lambo first.

G6 is just terrible GM interior though. Go with the G8(v8 ftw). the rebadged holdens(gto and G8 have such better interior quaility than our GMs. hopefully GM can bring more over as chevys and not murder the looks

There are only two reasons why the LFA was made in the first place:

1:  Proof of Concept.  Toyota/Lexus is actually losing money on each one sold, even at that ridiculous price.  They wanted to prove that they're capable of making a supercar, and IMO they did.

2:  Exclusivity/Collectability.  They only made 200 of these cars, and have no plans of ever making any more.  It's like the McLaren F1 - they only made 106 of those cars over a 6-year run, of which 34 were never available for general purchase (race cars, prototypes, etc.).  10 years ago that car cost $978,000.00, and prior to making the F1, they were only known for Formula 1 engines and a limited run of 10 souped up Mustangs.

To be honest, I'd love to see Lexus look into supercar manufacturing more in the future, and start making sports cars in general.  The fit and finish on the car is insane, as is the engineering.  It's easily the most technologically advanced street legal car in the world right now, and the sound that thing makes is fucking amazing.  If they can translate even 10% of that knowhow into making a new RWD sports car (New Supra?), I'd be first in line to buy it.

If i had 350k I'd get a 250k Lamborghini.

I'd get a 200K Aston Martin
and a 80K GT-R
and a 70K M3 Convertible

There's way too many options.

R8 $150k Fully loaded and you still have 200k to drop on whatever.

Once you've driven or sat in a super car you'd always want one. I still can't forget when i drove a Diablo. It was simply like having the mixture of Olivia Wilde,Kate Beckinsale,Megan Fox,Zooey Deschanel,Eliza Dushku on your side.

There's more I'm missing.

Onto the fine automobile comparison.

Comparing JDM vehicles to European made is totally different.

If I had the cash to blow, I'd buy this

because if I had the cash to blow, I'd buy all new clothes of the 1940's style and all the corsets I could buy. That way when I drive my car, my outfits would fit.  icon_lol Pin up girl status for shizzle
